Lucie Bray

All of Lucie's smaller paintings were completed on site outdoors. She used a specially developed white tent to cope with the weather. In addition to the chosen settings of these works Lucie was inspired by Japanese calligraphy and amongst others Antonia Tapies, Wilhelmina Barns Graham (later works), Gary Long and Neil Pinkett. She frequently drew on the work of various composers and the rhythms of  Japanese Taiko. She occupied one of the Porthmear Studios in St Ives where she worked on her large paintings. Sadly Lucie died last year.
